U-Boat Attack in North Atlantic
SS Robert M Colley was in convoy in a heavy sea when she was struck by a torpedo from U-254. The blast in the heavy sea broke the ship in two. The forward section sank during the night. Eleven men who abandoned ship in two lifeboats were never seen again. The remaining 33 survivors were rescued by HMS Borage in very heavy seas.
