U-Boat Attack en route to New York
The Freighter SS Rosario was torpedoed by U-664 off the coast of Ireland while en route to New York. Two torpedoes struck the starboard side and the ship listed seriously within two minutes. Shortly thereafter the ship took another list and capsized. Survivors were in the water for nearly two hours before being picked-up by the tanker H. H. Rogers and the British Rescue Ship SS Rathlin.
