U-Boat Attack near Ramsgate England
The Liberty Ship SS Henry B. Plant was torpedoed by U-245 just east of Ramsgate England while en convoy to Antwerp Belgium. It was her maiden voyage. ... The torpedo struck the starboard side and the ship started flooding immediately, she sank within five minutes. ... Survivors were picked-up by HMS Hazard and a local trawler.
