Hull

Ship Designation:
DD-350
Date Lost:
Monday, December 18, 1944
Lost in Typhoon Cobra
Caught in a typhoon, Hull became “locked in irons” in trough of mountainous sea and unable to steer. All hands worked feverishly to maintain watertight integrity. Taking a heavy roll which tipped the ship 80º caused seawater to cascade into her interior and she was unable to recover. 62 men of the 250 man crew were ultimately rescued.
