Submarine Attack in North Pacific

SS John A. Johnson was attacked by submarine I-12 in the North Pacific. One torpedo found it's target, another passed astern. The ship broke it two. I-12 surfaced and shelled the two halves, attacked survivors and their liferafts before they were sighted and later picked-up by USS Argus (PY-14).
