Charles Ackers suited up.

Charels Ackers' Navy Cross medal, a copy of the citation for it, several postal covers, and a series of photographs of the salvage of the USS Squalus (SS-192) are amongst the items recently donated to the United States Navy Memorial by his daughter Mary Jo Kubota-Arcarese.  These items are part of the Chief Charles Ackers Collection at the Memorial.
