
Excerpts from obituary published in San Diego Union-Tribune on 1/19/2020:
Samuel Hinojosa Jr. was born in Brownsville, Texas, on February 7, 1934, and passed away January 5, 2020, in Bonita, California. He served his country in the U.S. Army from which he was discharged as a Specialist-3 following which he then served in the U.S. Navy from which he was discharged in 1974 with the rate of Electronics Technician First Class. Upon retiring in 1974, he and his wife raised their children in San Diego. He has been interred at Fort Rosecrans National Cemetery in San Diego next to his wife who predeceased him in 2013. His memorial marker carries the inscription: ET1 US NAVY - SP3 US ARMY - KOREA - VIETNAM.
