Robert Henry Dolloff, CAPT, USN (Ret), passed away January 13, 2022, in La Mesa, California. Born December 4, 1931, in Oakland, California, he graduated from high school in 1950 and enlisted in the Navy. Completing boot camp and Radarman ”A” School, he was quickly selected for an officer program and attended the University of California Berkeley on an ROTC scholarship, graduating in 1955. He was commissioned an Ensign in the Navy Supply Corps and served in the Navy for the next 23 years, retiring as a Captain in 1978. He took pride in having advanced from Seaman to Captain in the Navy. He enjoyed a second career as a contract administrator for San Diego State University Foundation. His naval career took him around the world, with tours of duty including Naples, Italy; Hawaii; Guam; China Lake, California; Newport, Rhode Island; Utah; and San Diego. He served as Supply Officer aboard USS Piedmont, USS Mount Katmai, and USS Warrick. Interment will be at Miramar National Cemetery in San Diego. He is survived by his wife and three children.
