Excerpts from obituary published in San Diego Union-Tribune on 6/27/2021:

John Froom (Jack) Emery died June 2, 2021, in Laguna Niguel, California.  Born in San Diego and a long time-resident, he graduated from Hoover High School in 1942.  He spent four years in the U.S. Marine Corps (1942-1946) with service in the South Pacific and China.  He then completed his education in 1948 at the University of California, Berkeley, followed by graduate work at Hastings College of Law.  Employment included positions as Vice President of a Textron division in the Los Angeles area, teacher at Del Rey High School in Chula Vista, and a real estate broker in San Diego.  He is survived by his second wife, four children, six grandchildren, and six great-grandchildren.  His cremated remains will be scatter at sea in a private service.
