Excerpts from obituary published in San Diego Union-Tribune on 1/21/2015:

It is with profound sadness that the family of Joaquin Fune announces his passing.  He was born on August 21, 1925, in San Narciso, Philippines, the second youngest of 11 siblings.  After serving 27 years in the U.S. Navy he retired as Yeoman Senior Chief.  A San Diego County resident for nearly 60 years, he enjoyed gardening, cooking, and being with his compadres and comadres. He is survived by Adelaida, his wife of 66 years; five children, eleven grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.  He has been laid to final rest at Glen Abbey Memorial Park in Bonita, California.
