While on patrol May 25, she embarked and cared for survivors from Barry (APD-29) after the high-speed transport had been crashed by a kamikaze. ... Two days later, she splashed three suicide planes during two attacks. The third plane exploded close aboard the starboard beam and sprayed the ship with fragments. She suffered 18 causalities and some internal damage. ... While steaming for temporary repairs at Hagushi, Okinawa, she splashed yet anotherr attacker early 28 May after the plane had narrowly missed her stern.
