Lost in Storm near Greenland
The Freighter SS Nevada foundered and sank in heavy seas during a raging gale. The USCG Comanche arrived on scene to find the ship down by the head with a 30 degree list. Thirty two men were lost when a lifeboat capsized on leaving the ship, another three were lost during rescue efforts.
