Excerpts from obituary published in San Diego Union-Tribune on 7/5/2015:

William Bauer was born July 25, 1929, in Sheboygan, Wisconsin, and passed away on June 23, 2015, in El Cajon, California.  After graduating from high school in 1947, Bill joined the United States Navy where he proudly served for 20 years.  After leaving the Navy in 1967 he enjoyed an investigative career with the San Diego County District Attorney’s Office and with the California State Contractor’s Licensing Board before retiring in 1991.  He was married in St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Sheboygan Falls, Wisconsin, on February 23, 1952.  He is survived by his wife of 63 years, two children and three grandchildren.  Private interment will be at Miramar National Cemetery in San Diego.
