Captain Hoyt served in the U.S. Navy for 28 years; among his many posts were Guam, New Zealand, the United Kingdom, and three tours of duty at sea.  After retirement from military service, he worked for the Multinational Peacekeeping Force in the Sinai Peninsula, the DC metropholitan Police Dept, and Montgomery County.
