Medal of Honor Peace Time Award

 

The President of the United States of America, in the name of Congress, takes pleasure in presenting the Medal of Honor to Chief Watertender Robert Earl Bonney, United States Navy, for extraordinary heroism in the line of his profession while serving on board the U.S.S. Hopkins.  Chief Watertender Bonney displayed extraordinary heroism in the line of his profession on the occasion of the accident to one of the boilers of that vessel on 14 February 1910.
