Kamikaze Attack in San Pedro Bay
The Liberty Ship Jeremiah M. Daily was struck by a Kamikaze while anchored in San Pedro Bay , Leyte, Philippines. The plane crashed into the starboard forward corner of the wheelhouse. Flames from an incendiary bomb, gasoline and oil caused extensive damage and loss of life amopng the troops on deck. The Fire was brought under control after 4 hours.
