CALEB W. "MAC" MCCORMICK

Caleb W. McCormick was born on July 30, 1924. While attending the University of California at Berkeley in 1942 he turned 18, joined the Naval Reserve and became a member of NROTC. He was commissioned an Ensign and called to active duty in July 1943. He was assigned to a CB unit and was in the Philippines when World War II ended. After release from the Navy in July 1946 he became an employee of the California Institute of Technology in Pasadena, California, where he became an engineering professor and worked for many years in the early development of computers. He had a love of the sea and was a member of Bahia Corinthian Yacht Club in Newport Beach, California, for many years. He died on May 9, 2015, and was succeeded by his wife of 60-years and four daughters.
