KILLED  IN  VEHICLE  ACCIDENT  -  4/15/2025

Albert A. Aguilera was born in February 2003 in Riverside, California.  He enlisted in the Marine Corps from Riverside in March 2023 and was promoted to lance corporal in May 2024.  On April 15, 2025, Aguilera and two companions were in a non-tactical vehicle in a convoy enroute to El Paso, Texas.  At about 8:50 in the morning as the convoy passed near Santa Teresa, New Mexico, their vehicle experienced a single vehicle rollover accident seriously injuring all three occupants.  The three men were quickly transported to nearby University Medical Hospital in El Paso where LCPL Aguilera and one other Marine died.  At the time of this writing the third Marine remains hospitalized, and the cause of the accident has not been determined and is under investigation.  The three men were combat engineers attached to the First Combat Engineer Battalion and had been working in support of the Task Force Southern Border operations in support of President Trump’s efforts to bolster security at the U.S-Mexican border.
